The objective of this procedure is to provide WINCH users with detailed step by step instructions for files transfers on WINCH using the SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol). This protocol is compulsaory for files over 10 GB.

WINCH is a web portal, AWS cloud based, used to transfer files from external partners into Sanofi R&D systems, GxP compliant and secure.

3. File transfer Procedure

Please open your SFTP client.

This example is provided using MobaXterm but is the same with any kind of SFTP client.

The SFTP transfer is not dependent on the used SFTP client.

Once your client opened, please create a new SFTP session.

If using Mobaxterm, please click on Sessions->New Session

Then click on SFTP.

You may now provide the requested information to open the SFTP session:

Remote host is: sftp.winch-sanofi.com

Username is the one you have been provided with in the WINCH email you received.

Please click on “OK”. You’ll be asked for a password.

The password has also been provided to you by email.

Please DO NOT change anything else.

The session may now be open and active. On the left hand side of the screen is the content on your computer and on the right side is WINCH. You may drag and drop the file you are willing to copy on WINCH.
